Newspaper Article 2000 – Grandson solves photo mystery

Grandson solves photo mystery

Briefly…

The grandson of the lady featured in our mystery photograph on the Taradale page last week has rung us to identify those featured.

Tom McCormack, of Church Road, says the woman on the right is his grandmother, Bridget Reid, with her soldier son Pat and her daughter Nan (later Mrs Joe Hickey).

Mrs Reid, who died in the early 1940s, was well-known in Taradale because she had a cow bail in Meeanee Road, where McDonald’s Transport now stands. She used to milk cows and sell their milk. She lived in a house almost opposite that site.
