Ursula Allan
Ursula Allan was born and raised in Napier.
Ursula graduated with 1st class honours in Vocal Performance and in 1996 completed her Master of Music in vocal Performance studying with Ms Emily Mair. In 1996 Ursula was placed second in the Peter and May Harris Aria competition run in conjunction with the Napier Performing Arts Easter competitions. She was also one of the 12 semifinalists for the Mobil Song Quest.
Ursula Allan is Opera New Zealand’s Artist in Residence for 1997. In this position she will be continuing to study with teachers in both Wellington and Auckland and will also understudy all Opera New Zealand roles.
Ursula has been accepted into the Post-Graduate Opera Programme at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

Iosefa Enari
Western Samoa born baritone Iosefa Enari has performed numerous roles with most New Zealand opera companies. After a period of study in New York and Boston as a Fulbright Scholar he returned to New Zealand and has had continued success.
Iosefa is a Radio New Zealand recording artist, a sought after recital and oratorio soloist, and is booked up with professional engagements for the next eighteen months.

Beniamino Makisi
Ben completed his studies at Victoria University in 1992 studying with Ms Emily Mair, and in the same year, toured New Zealand with Dame Malvina Major.
In 1994 Ben triumphed at the Auckland Herald Aria; a win that led to participation in the Melbourne Sun Aria Competition.
Since then, Ben has performed with various opera companies around New Zealand, notably the role of Don Basilio with Hawkes Bay Opera in 1995.
In 1996 Ben spent six months in New York city, studying with expatriate New Zealander, Francis Wilson.

Cam McGregor
Cam has just finished at King’s College in Auckland and is about to begin his course of study at Otago. He has been the soloist in the King’s Chapel Choir for a number of years, and in 1996 was one of the four members of the college’s well-received Parnell Barbershop which toured parts of the North Island last June.
He will be continuing his musical studies as he moves south.

Greg Neil
Greg completed an honours degree in piano performance at Victoria University in 1992, studying with Miss Judith Clarke.
In 1994 he toured the North Island with the group Five Go Mad On Opera, performing in schools, and presenting recitals.
In 1995 he and Ben performed at the Waitangi Day celebrations at Waitangi, at the invitation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In the 1996 Wellington International Festival of the Arts, Greg, Ben and Iosefa performed together in the Pacific Island Extravaganza Tu Fa’atasi.
Greg is presently investigating ways of easing oneself into the pits of poverty while enrolled at Boston University in the graduate collaborative piano programme. He is studying with Mr Thomas Stumpf.
