Summary: Review: Built in 1874 as the Railway Hotel. Fire destroyed the hotel in 1906. Rebuilt and named the Grand Hotel, but later destroyed by the Hawke’s Bay Earthquake, 3 Feb 1931. Rebuilt in 1933. 2007 being used as a Backpacker’s Lodge.
