Killed by Japanese while a prisoner-of-war
From Anita Davies, August 2020 – “… Mr H R Hearn a Hero of WW2 was executed by the Japanese Army. He died a horrible death when he was decapitated. I am not sure if his brother Douglas Hearn Hastings is still alive. When I was a little girl I went to see his mother with my 2 brothers and she had his picture draped in black and candles lit. This has stayed with me all my life as the sorrow in this home was so terrible.”
