Arrived in New Zealand on the “Clontarf”, 16 March 1860
Parents died shortly after arrival
Cook at Whana Whana Station from 1894 to 1919
Retired to Christchurch to live with his sister Maria Hutcheson (1844-9/6/1936)
Estate was 732 pounds, left 100 pounds to friend’s wife; 10 pounds each to a gardener and 4 nurses, remainder to the nursing home where he died
