Powdrell Bros’ first job – winching up a stranded fishing vessel at Awatoto, 1904
When Frank Powdrell took delivery of his new traction engine from Napier, he was stopped at Awatoto by a Mr William who also owned a traction engine, to assist in winching a fishing vessel which had become stranded on the beach to higher ground for repairs.
