Description

Thomas and Julia Burden left England for New Zealand in 1897 with their 5 children. They eventually lived in Karamu Road in Hastings but also had a bach on the beach at Te Awanga on the Clifton side of the mouth of the Maraetotara River.  Mick Burden was their second to youngest child and he established Burden’s Camp at Te Awanga.
