Description
Christ’s College Centenary celebrations 1950
1 – Brian Heywood, John Scott and Jim Newbigin ready for prayers
2 – John Scott, Jim Newbigin on left
In the background left is the fives courts; the brick building housed the squash court, and to the right the construction of eight new classrooms
5 – The masters of Christ’s College gathering before going to assembly
Some that I remember from the left: x, Bromley, Cooke, x, x, Solomon, Reeves, Meadowcroft, x, Morris, Earl, Hounsell
In the background are the dining hall, sick bay, Harper House, Julius House.
The grass behind the masters was known as the Quad. Very sacred as we pupils were not allowed to put a foot on it.
