My dear Mother.
I was very pleased to receive your letter. I will ans [answer] it quite soon. Am still here. we are all having bad colds but no one ill or off duty. This is the English Church. I haven’t been able to get one of theatre[?] or Hospital Will soon. Am very anxious to depart from Hastings it’s colder Than ever.
