Edwardian Baroque style
First ferro-concrete building in Hastings and built by an American firm
The Dominion Bulding was built as an office block in the year the British Parliament passed legislation recognising the full independence of foreign colonies as “Dominions”.
It was commissioned by Mrs Gertrude Mary Beetham Russell, nee Williams.
The pillars, as veranda posts, were “filled” in as office space after the earthquake.
