Article in “Auckland Weekly News”, 18 December 1935 –
LARGELY-ATTENDED GARDEN PARTY HELD AT A WELL-KNOWN HOMESTEAD IN THE HASTINGS DISTRICT IN AID OF CHILDREN’S HEALTH FUNDS
Some of those who were present at the garden party organised by Mrs. T.H. Lowry and held at the Okawa station homestead. Members of the Sherenden, Puketapu and Fernhill Women’s Institutes and of the Hastings Women’s Community Club attended, and the proceeds were in aid of funds for the Otaki Children’s Health Camp.
