This type of Honours Board is quite common in community halls throughout New Zealand. Those men who were killed in action are normally noted with a black star against their name. The others are those who served and returned home.
Research on the online Cenotaph of the Auckland War Memorial Museum has helped to establish the first names of those men who are just listed as an initial.
