Description

Avenue of poplar trees, known as Poplar Avenue – ran from Pakowhai Road to Ruahapia Road

Poplar Avenue (Pakowhai Road), about 1960, started its life as fence posts that all grew, on fences built by the Nelsons – from “William Nelson of Tomoana – His Legacy to Hawke’s Bay” by RJ Paterson, 2001
