Description
Frank Powdrell and his traction engine crashed through the bridge into the water, 10 October 1905. He acquired 14 galvanised tanks which were chained to the submerged engine at low tide. Huge beams were laid against the bank. At high tide five steam engines then hauled the massive 10-ton traction engine out of the muddy water.
