Public Trust Building
Street address 201 Karamu Road North
New Zealand Historic Places Trust Register Category 2, Number 1101
Built 1926 by JWC Munn/Monk
Architect – JT Silver
The two fluted Grecian Ionic columns stand on either sides of the entrance from Karamu Road; Queen Street side has plain pilasters with moulded and enriched caps
The building survived the 1931 earthquake.
Former site of Williams and Kettle cattle yards
At the time Queen Street traffic was one way (part of the “ring road”)
