“Fire on board the N.Z.S. Co.’s steamer Waimate, at Napier, December 3 and 4, 1901. Fighting the fire on the Waimate. The Hastings Brigade’s steam fire engine (pumping 800 gallons of water per minute), on board Agnes Martin (lighter). The engine was brought by train from Hastings.”
