B Avison is Oswald Dunnill Blain Avison (14/8/1905-1987), known as Boysie

“The Avison brothers were part of the wool industry in Hawke’s Bay, eventually running their own scour at Whakatu. During the Second [World] War Hedley ran the scour when ODB served in the Air Force. Oswald Dunnill Blain Avison is mentioned on the Clive War Memorial… OBD’s father was Oswald Dunnill Avison therefore ODB was commonly known as “Boysie.”
