Description
Photo caption – “Waipukurau June 1993 taken from near to [where] state Highway two crosses the line. The signs have gone & windows are boarded up. There is one employee here to shunt the siding to the local boning factory. The same person also shunts at Marakeke [Maharakeke] for the lime works. To the left is the loading/unloading ganetory [gantry] and the shed was just on the other side. The sale yards was on the left (not shown). The Napier – Wellington Bay express stops here. The locomotive servicing department was behind the shunter.”
