Description

Mrs Giorgi, Mayoress of Hastings, visited Waiwhare School, August 1969, and spoke on the Hastings Embroidery in England. This embroidery marked the nine hundredth anniversary of the Battle of Hastings, and was worked by the Royal College of Needlework, London.

Mr and Mrs Giorgi travelled to Britain to attend the various ceremonies held to commemorate the Battle of Hastings.
