Description
Newspaper article November, 1931 –
Water gushing from one of the two six-inch artesian wells sunk near the power house at Hastings, Hawke’s Bay, to augment the town’s supply, which has been gradually diminishing since the earthquake in February. The new wells (bores) have been sunk to a depth of over 300 feet, considerably deeper than the existing wells. The two new bores have an output of 2,000,000 two million gallons daily.
