Description

JH Williams moved his house from Waipuna, Frimley, Hastings, to Havelock North, and enlarged it before being occupied by his family in 1899. He named the house property “Muritai”, Maori for “Sea Breeze”. The first part of the house was built in 1880. JH Williams bought section ten from the Duart Estate sale in 1898, for which he paid £48.
