Wool wagons at Fernhill, possibly taken on the Omahu side of the Ngaruroro River

Photo caption – “The age of the horse: Wool waggons at Fernhill in 1890-1900. These waggons were made by Jones and Sons, Hastings, the larger ones for eight-horse teams.”

From Ken Tucker, Waipukurau, 2012 – ‘On the other side of the river at Omahu in 1895 the wagons were made by Jones and Sons of Hastings.’
