Early Run For Maori Players?

The New Zealand Maori rugby players to play France at Napier on July 29 may have a run together before then.

The chairman of the Maori Advisory Board, Mr. J. D. King, told yesterday’s meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union council that there was some disappointment that a pre-France match could not be arranged.

The board suggested that a run, perhaps with the Hawke’s Bay team, might be arranged.

The council agreed that the executive should consider the matter. The Maori selectors will be Mr. W. Barclay (Hawke’s Bay), convener; W. Sparks (Wellington), T. Donald (Marlborough) and J. Marriner (King Country).

Mr. Barclay will be the manager of the side and Mr. T. Ormond liaison officer.
