ANNUAL MEETING, TUESDAY, 26TH JULY 1949 at 12.30 P.M.

NO VISITORS PLEASE.

Dear Fellow Rotarian,

Our Annual Meeting takes place next Tuesday. Enclosed with this letter is a copy of the Annual Report and Balance Sheet, and we would be glad if you would study them prior to the meeting so as to save the time it would take to read them to the members on Tuesday. A list of the new Committees for the year 1949-50 is enclosed, together with the analysis of attendances referred to in the Annual Report.

THE ROTARY MOTTO.

In his Monthly Letter for July, District Governor Bill says: “Advice has been received that the Board of R.I. has directed the Secretary to discontinue the use of the words “He profits most who serves best” in all Rotary literature which may be published in future. We shall follow the lead of R.I. in this district and discontinue the use of these words in all Rotary publications.”

Whit’s excellent and interesting talk to us last Tuesday on “Changing Britain” is one to be remembered. You must have felt, as I did, far more hopeful for the future, as far as Britain is concerned after hearing Whit’s thoughtful analysis of the position as it appears to us today.

Thank you Whit. Thank you, too, Bob, for putting so well into words, when thanking Whit, what was in the minds of us all.

ORDERLIES ON DUTY TUESDAY: MESS (Meat Course) WESTIE, JIM Wattie, Win and CYRIL Wilkie.

AT THE PRESIDENT’S TABLE – The incoming President, Vice-President and Directors please.

ATTENDANCE AT LAST MEETING:   Present   61
Apologies   9
70 = 87.14%.

Yours in Rotary,
WALLY.
Secretary.
