You must all be very heartened to see how well we have done this past year, but, lets not get carried away with our balance, because, the majority of our excess will go to help us carry on, until our next summer season starts, when we get the majority of our income. Out of money on hand comes the upgrading of number 2 green. For this, we need to treat for grassgrub, coring, and there will be fertiliser and grass seed to be purchased. In addition, our lawnmower will need maijor maintenance. The grocery raffle and cake stall helped boost our funds, plus increased membership. Likewise, our expenses will be increased this year, with an increase in our rates of at least 25% (this works out at $5 per member) our levy to the New Zealand Croquet Council will also be increased $2 per member, telephone goes up an extra $1 a week, insurance has already gone up and G.S.T. will flow on to all we procure, so we can see the proposed $10 increase in subscription soon eaten up. It has been very heartening to me, as your treasurer, for the past three years, to see how hard you have all worked to make the club succeed, by your enthusiasm in bringing

new members into the club, organising the yearly grocery raffle, cake stall etc., this surely has been the start of our uphill climb. So lets, for the future, always have some positive aim in mind, completing the upgrading of our greens, and then, maybe, looking towards interior maintenance and painting of the clubhouse. In closing I say a big thank you, to you all, for your help.
