Born Ferring, Sussex, England 13 December 1942, arrived New Zealand 1946.  Married 1963 Dianne Carole Forbes; two children – Maree Suzanne (born 1965), Cindy Michelle (born 1967)  Educated Hastings Boys’ High School; Victoria University of Wellington 1961-64-Master of Arts (Honours) 1965, Christchurch Teachers’ College 1965 -Trained Teacher’s Certificate (Distinction)1965, Diploma Teaching 1966.  Awarded Watkins Prize for all-round excellence 1965
Principal Golden Bay High School, Motueka 1991-, formerly other education positions.  President NZPPTA 1980, executive member 1973-82.  Chaired Political Renewal Group in 1970s.   Picton borough councillor 1986-89, church officer 1963-
Marlborough Volleyball Player of the Year 1987
Leisure activities include cricket, volleyball, golf.
