Thank you for asking me to assist […] with her workstation.

I have spoken briefly to […] and have agreed with her that it would be better to wait until she returns to work after her surgery before continuing with any assessment.

[…] stated that she felt that she knew what had caused her pain and that it was unlikely to cause any further problems. I recommended to her that I still assess her workstation on her return to work and discuss some general principals of workstation arrangements.

[…] indicated that she has a similar workstation at home where she also spends some time. These same principals can be applied to any workstation. While she is away I have suggested that she use a small footstool, such as a pillow or journal box, while she is using a keyboard.

I recommend that I visit the workplace before […] returns to work and meet with […] and yourself to prepare a written return to work plan. A return to work plan reduces any adverse affects returning to work may have after an absence. This plan would include the hours to be worked and the type of tasks including rest periods.

You will note that I have sent a copy of this letter to […] and I wish her well for her forthcoming surgery.

Yours Sincerely
