Born Gillingham, Kent, 4 April 1935; arrived in New Zealand, 1957, son of Geoffrey Braybrooke and Edith (née Moore); married Janice Cater, daughter of Arthur James Cater, 1959; two daughters.
Education: Chatham House County Gramm School, Ramsgate; MNZIM.  RAMC (Cpl), 1952-1955; RNZAMC (WO1), 1957-1970; saw active service Malaya 1958-1960, Vietnam 1967-1968.  Cadet, Scottish Forestry Commission; British Army (RAMC), 3 years; London Policeman, 2 years; NZ Army (Royal NZ Army Medical Corps), 12 years; Sales Manager, Eli Lilly NZ & Co; Member of Parliament (Labour) Napier, 1981 -:  Chairman, Defence, Communications and Road Safety Select Committees at 1990 dissolution.  Former Member, Hornby (Christchurch) Community Council;  Member, Board of Governors, Rosehill College, Papakura, 1975-1978.
Sports: NZ Army Soccer Rep, 1957-1958; Member Auckland AAA, 1969-1976.
Recreations: collie dogs, athletics admin, study of World War Two history.
