Awarded 1990 Commemorative Medal, UN Korea Medal 1953, Malaya General Service Medal 1959, Vietnam General Service Medal 1967-68, Vietnam Medal of Honour 1967.
Vice-president Napier City Rovers Football Club, former NZ Army soccer representative, marksman NZAAA.
Leisure activities include reading, dog breeding and judging.
