University Lecturer, Playwright.
Born Hastings 19 March 1947. Tribal affiliations Ngati Kahungunu, Kai Tahu.
Educated Hastings Boys’ High School 1960-65; Massey University – BSc 1961; Otago University – BDS 1977.
Lecturer in Maori Health, University of Otago Medical School 1989-, formerly general dental practitioner 1979-88.
Publications include stage plays Te Hokinga Mai (The Return Home) (Aoraki Productions, 1990), Te Hara (The Sin): Te Reo Hou, An Anthology of Five Plays (Playmarket, 1991). Bruce Mason Playwright Award 1990.
Justice of the Peace 1986-.
Captain with 3 Field Ambulance (NZ) 1979-,
Leisure activities include aerobics, Maori community activities.
