We acknowledge such a large crowd of visitors at our last Tuesday’s luncheon meeting, as a tribute to our new President for this Rotary year. Thank you P.D.G. Bob Dockery for your usual courtesy visit to our Club on these special occasions, ever-reminding us, of consideration from a thoughtful Rotarian.

YOU CAN HAVE A WEEK-END IN AUSTRALIA AND HELP A WORTHY CAUSE:
The Rotary Club of Eastern Hutt advice their sponsored Golf Forum – The Third N.Z. Annual Rotary Golf Championship – the proceeds to aid the National Paraplegic and Physically Disabled Holiday Camp at Otaki and the entrance fee is only $3. Golfers are invited from all over N.Z. to take part. The Championship is decided on Stableford Points and Competitors will play 36 holes – 2 rounds of golf on any two days during the month of August. The four best Stablefords over the 36 holes, from each Districts (16 players) go into the final to be held at the Temarua [Te Marua] Golf Club, Upper Hutt, The National Final will be held on the 15th and 16th November, 1975. Last year the proceeds were well over $1000 – don’t you agree this is a pleasant way to help in a worthy project. The winner and the runner-up of this year, together with the two leaders of last year proceed to Australia, early in 1976. Prizes to be distributed to the four winners and the four runners-up in each District, the four finalists are able to compete as a team for trophies, and there are other valuable trophies for individual play. Entries close on 27th July, so contact Sec. Frank Crist now, and he will give you all the details, how to help yourself to pleasure, as you help others. It will cost you only $3 to get into the swing.

RESIGNATIONS: The Directors advise that they have accepted with regret the following resignations – Laurie Lloyd, Murray Pinfold. We will miss their good fellowship.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: Be kind to your friends – if it wasn’t for them you’d be a perfect stranger.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Well done the new team! I think we got away to a flying start on Tuesday with the great help of new cash desk pair (Ray and Adrian), the new Fellowship squad (Evan and Ben) and the brilliant opening performances of Alan as Sergeant-at-Arms.

My Presidential role as Chairman of the weekly luncheon meeting is dependent for its success on the efficiency of the “Luncheon Squad”, and, on Tuesday’s showing, the new squad will be “tops”. Thanks, fellows.   Jim.
