PRESIDENT’S CORNER: You may have heard rumours to this effect, but I can now confirm them – the 1977 District 293 Conference will be held in the Hastings/Havelock North area. Havelock North Rotary Club will be the host Club and their member, Callum Kirkpatrick. Will be the Conference Chairman and this will head the organising team. Most of us are aware of Callum’s considerable organising talents and of his great experience with large-scale operations such as this will be, so, we can already congratulate Havelock North and District Governor-Elect, John Nicholls, on the wisdom of their first decision. Undoubtedly Callum will be calling on one or two of our members to join his committee and I would ask that those approached give him all the support they can. We’ll no doubt hear a lot more about the 1977 Conference in the New Year.   Jim.
