Fellows, Would you please mark November 8th in your diaries for the official visit to the Club of District Governor Leighton Patmore.
This visit will take the form of an evening dinner meeting at which we shall entertain our ladies.
To Doug Turner, I would like to offer on behalf of all the fellows, our deepest sympathy on the passing of your dear wife, Marjorie. I know what a very heavy burden you have carried over the past months, Doug, and I only hope you gain some comfort from the knowledge that the thoughts of all the fellows are with you and your family at this time. Don.

TRANSPORT – HAVELOCK NORTH TO HASTINGS: In respect of the above we now find out that Les Snookes has also been transporting these pre-schoolers since last year and we record the thanks of the Club for the concern by another member to the needs of these young people. We remind members – more volunteers required.

PERSONALITIES OF THE WEEK:

August 12, Molly and Hamish McPherson.
Our doctor has a good prescription to raise the spirits at his parties – it’s in the fancy bottle on the top shelf.

JUST TO YOU ON THE BALL: A total of 103 players have been nominated for the South African Rugby trials in Pretoria – 78 from the South African Rugby Board, 11 from the S.A. Rugby Football Federation (coloured) and 13 from the S.A. Rugby Assn (Black).

TARADALE ROTARY CLUB – now meeting once again at their usual venue – Taradale Town Hall – same day and time.

ROTARY ON STAMPS CATALOGUE: An International Project of a Rotary Club in Israel, Nathan Kaldos, Chairman of the International Service Committee of the Rotary Club of Behovot, District 199 Israel, is a keen Rotarian and a Philatelist. His club has published a “Rotary on Stamps Catalogue” in which all commemorative issues from the first Austrian set in 1931 until today are illustrated. As the catalogue is not intended to be commercial, no prices will be indicated. His club is doing this as an International Service Project and it is being financed by Nathan and some friends so that the full price of the catalogue can be contributed to Rotary Foundation. He suggests that copies be sold at a minimum price of US$2 per catalogue and that this amount be lodged directly to the Rotary Foundation, through the normal B.N.Z. arrangements. Orders for the catalogue should be sent direct to the District Foundation Office, Les Grant, P.O. Box 22, Waipukurau.

Registered at the Post Office Headquarters, Wellington, New Zealand as a Magazine.
