WE NEED HOST FAMILIES:  Our Club is hosting an Exchange Student this year, coming to us from the Rotary Club of Uxbridge, England. Jane Barraclough, a young High School student, will be arriving in N.Z. on the 6 Sept. next, and we ask our members to give consideration to hosting this delightful young lady from overseas.  Some members have already signified their intention to host our in-coming Exchange Student but more offers of hospitality are needed so that her stay in each home would be only of a very short duration.  The date of her arrival in N.Z., 6 Sept., is one particular date, hosting is also needed.  These young persons come to New Zealand so as to meet people and to learn about our culture and the hospitality of our members allows them to gain a personal experience of our way of life.   If you can help, please contact Charlie Trask.  He would appreciate your interest and involvement in this very rewarding experience.

It’s CHANGE-OVER week.  On TUESDAY, if you can, please share with me in the INDUCTION of PRESIDENT-ELECT FRANK.  Let our presence and our enthusiasm for the occasion and the presence of the ladies help express our WELCOME to FRANK and MARGARET.
If you haven’t registered to come and you find you can manage to do so, please let me know by Monday and bring your money along on Tuesday evening.  It won’t be too late.
It is fitting that DISTRICT ASSEMBLY will be held in TOKOROA next Saturday – during our last weekend this Rotary year.  Our thanks to those accompanying Frank and Jack to this important District instructional session for new officers and we look forward to the resulting benefit which will undoubtedly accrue to us all in the new year.  Roger.

CHANGE-OVER NIGHT – LADIES’ NIGHT:  This is the night the Rotary wheel turns full circle once again – a repair and maintenance service, with all the big wheels changed over for new cogs.  Even the chain that brings together all movements is taken off – a new link added, and put back once more on to overdrive, next Tuesday evening, 26 June, at the Farmers Tea Rooms.  It’s all go in the Blues Room at 6.30 p.m. with fellowship – refreshments savouries – followed by a sumptuous meal with all the trimmings laid on, at 7 p.m., that will make your knife and fork look like poetry in motion.  Let’s have a glimpse at the menus – Hors d’oeuvre varie. – Ham Steak Hawaiian – Roast Potatoes – Creamed Potatoes – Two Vegetables – Hot Apple Shortcake – Baked Alaska – Coffee.  Appropriate refreshments will be served during dinner.  All this for only $11 per person – including terrific entertainment.  This is the night when your presence is a show of appreciation to President Roger and his wife, Jennifer, for their strength of purpose given to our Club and for the warmth of their fellowship with their application to the spirit of Rotary.  This is also an opportunity for all members to support our in-coming President Frank and his wife Margaret as we look forward to another rewarding Rotary year.  Ladies, don’t forget to wear your name badge – we like to say hello. Well, that’s it – looking forward to meeting you all on Tuesday, 26 June, at Change-Over Night.
