HELP!! John Mullaney [Mullany] needs a back-up Pianist. Surely there is another piano player in the club. If you can  held [help] contact Robbie or Rod Naylor.

PRESIDENT’S CORNER:   Those who have attended our last two luncheon meetings have been fortunate in hearing from a further two fellow Rotarians.
It is interesting to note that some of our best speakers this year have been fellow members of our own club.
Two weeks ago Owen gave us a most interesting and educational insight into the growth of dentistry from the 17th century through to to-day’s technology.
This past Tuesday’s address by Piet and his two joint managing Directors, Cyril Whittaker (Havelock North Rotarian) and Hugh van Asch on New Zealand Aerial Mapping during their first 50 years was most informative.
It was most gratifying that our fines collected over these last two weeks and donated to the Solomon Island’s Disaster Appeal, totalled nearly $300. Thank you fellows for your generosity.
PROVERBS:   3/6/86   “A quarrelsome wife is like a constant dripping on a rainy day. Restraining her is like restraining the wind or grasping oil with the hand.”
10/6/86   “He who loves a pure heart and whose speech is gracious will have the King for his friend.”

GROUP STUDY EXCHANGE TEAM TO MASSACHUSET [MASSCHUSETTS], USA:
For the very first time District 993 will send a Women’s Team during the 1986/87 Rotary year. Vice President Robbie has been requested to acquaint members with this information and actively encourage the nomination of candidates. Applications will be called for early In the new Rotary year. As this is a first for District 993 it is particularly important that only outstanding candidates who will ultimately reflect on a Club’s selection be nominated. The importance of this cannot be overstated.
Candidates for the team must be between the ages of 25 and 35 (both inclusive at the time of application). They must be in good health, of high moral character, intelligent and co-operative. They should be presentable in appearance and able to express themselves clearly and logically. It would be great if our club could put forward a suitable young lady as a candidate for the team and what a great honour it would be to have our candidate selected as a team member. Surely from a club of 80+ of Hastings leading business men we can find “the right” young lady.
Think hard on this one fellows, and for further information, contact Robbie or Brian Usherwood.
