PRESIDENT NEIL’S NOTES
These will be my last notes to you as this Rotary year comes to an end. My reflections are probably the same as all previous Presidents, who started the year with some hesitation and trepidation, but who completed it having enjoyed what has been a demanding time, yet without doubt a most enjoyable one as well.
One thing I have endeavoured to do as well as possible, is to keep the Club informed on the various activities we have been involved in, together with the wider issues of Rotary. Whether it has been through these notes or at our meetings, I have tried to “personalise” the scope and work of Rotary. Even so, I’ve barely scratched the surface, for the worldwide programme and involvement of Rotary is immense. No club can take it all in. We must settle for the level of involvement that we are capable of, and do that well. So my hope as we end this segment of Rotary activity is that we have fulfilled to the best of our ability the various projects and plans that as Committees or as a Club, we have undertaken. I believe it has been a good year and all can feel a certain satisfaction.
Having said that, there is one requirement around which all else revolves and we must all apply ourselves to it before the Club or the Committees attempt anything. And that is to nurture and develop the bonds of fellowship that exist within the Club. For this is the base from which our service begins. Thank you fellows, for the fellowship and service that we have shared and enjoyed.

Firstly, I would like to thank Sandy for preparing the Newsletter whilst I was on vacation. Secondly, I urge you to attend CHANGEOVER NIGHT and by your presence acknowledge the commitment to Rotary of President Neil and Valda – we have had a great year. We shall welcome President Frank and Greta as our leaders for what I am sure will be another memorable year in the history of our Rotary Club.
