THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION DIFFERENCE

It’s all about you – what you want to do to make a difference for Hawke’s Bay – you tell us. We make it happen.

Give where you live, your generosity stays in Hawke’s Bay, for Hawke’s Bay

We establish a fund named by you for the purposes you choose *

We maintain your capital and distribute the income every year according to your wishes, forever

We only require 1% of your fund each year for administering the foundation – you can be assured that 99% of your donation will be used exactly as you intended

You decide what you would like your fund to support – it may be a fund for a field of interest (eg arts, youth, environment etc), it may be a designated fund (eg Red Cross, SPCA), it may be a project fund (the Hawke’s Bay Digital Archive) or it could form part of the Community Foundation’s general fund and be used for the betterment of Hawke’s Bay as the trustees see fit.

We keep you involved and informed about the benefits your donation is bringing to the Hawke’s Bay Community

*For donations or accumulated donations over $5,000

THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION WAY

Donations are made to the community foundation in many forms:
One-off donation or regular donations
Estate bequests and endowments
Life Insurance transfers
Transfer of existing charitable trusts
Management of business sponsorship budgets

THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION BENEFITS LOCAL CHARITIES

Funds are combined for a better return
Capital is maintained and only the income is distributed
Grants are allocated annually and charities can rely on them in perpetuity
Donations do not become “assets” of the charity and so do not affect their other funding opportunities
