Community Week 1978

COMMUNITY WEEK

JULY 11th – 15th 1978

The People of Hastings are Invited to

Become Aware   OF THE MANY NEEDS IN OUR COMMUNITY

OF THE RANGE OF GROUPS WORKING TO MEET THOSE NEEDS

To Discover   EVERY PERSON’S ABILITY TO CARE

THE MANY OPPORTUNITIES THAT EXIST FOR HELPING

Become Involved   IN A WEEK OF CARING ACTIVITY

IN CONCERN FOR THEIR COMMUNITY

Community Week   :   July 11th – 15th

WHY – THERE ARE MORE THAN 70 SOCIAL SERVICE ORGANISATIONS IN Hastings and we now know that…

A)   MANY OF THESE ORGANISATION HAVE DIFFICULTY INFORMING THE PUBLIC
– THAT THEY EXIST
– HOW THEY SEEK TO HELP IN THE COMMUNITY

B)   THERE ARE SOME GROUPS WHO ARE EVEN UNAWARE OF THE EXISTENCE OF OTHER ORGANISATIONS SIMILAR TO THEIR OWN!

C)   MANY SOCIAL SERVICE ORGANISATIONS FIND DIFFICULTY RECRUITING NEW MEMBERS.
(And New Helpers)

THEREFORE…

IT IS HOPED THAT THROUGH A WEEK FULL OF ACTIVITIES PUBLIC DISCUSSION DISPLAYS PUBLICITY.

ALL ORGANISATIONS WHO WISH TO PARTICIPATE MAY BRING TO THE ATTENTION OF THE PUBLIC BOTH THEIR EXISTENCE AND THEIR FUNCTION.

…AND IT IS ALSO HOPED THAT THE WEEK MAY ALSO HELP AWAKEN THE COMMUNITY’S AWARENESS FOR THE NEED OF US ALL TO CARE FOR EACH OTHER!!
