COPLAND, Raymond Augustus
Retired University Professor. Born Feilding 6 September 1918. Married 1944 Jean Proudman; three children – Alison Jean, John Martin, Tessa Margaret.
Educated Napier Boys’ High School; Christchurch Teachers’ College; Canterbury University
Retired 1976 as Professor of English, Canterbury University, formerly lecturer in England from 1949.
Former member and chairman NZ Literary Fund Committee.
Publications include All Part of the Game (1978 – editor), Frank Sargeson (1976), contributions to Landfall, Islands as NZ literature critic, contributor short stories to NZ Listener under pseudonym Augustus.
Address 25A Kotare Street, Christchurch.
