Born Wellington, 26 September 1926, son of Thomas Frederick Corkill and Edith Annie (née Morrison); married Mary Way Maclean, daughter of Eric Wanklyn and May Harcourt Maclean, 1950; one son four daughters.
Education: Wellesley College; Scots College; Otago University, Master of Arts 1947, Bachelor of Divinity 1950; Knox College, Adam Begg Travel Scholarship 1950; Westminster College, Cambridge.  Ordained as Presbyterian Minister, 1952; Parish Minister: St Andrew’s, Westport 1952-1957, Maori Hill, Dunedin 1957-1969, Trinity, Timaru 1969-1979, Napier West 1979-1985, Motueka Cooperating 1986-1990 (retired); Convenor, PCNZ: for Theological Education 1964-1969, for Church Union 1975-1980; Member, Joint Commission on Church Union, 1974-1980; Moderator: Presbyterian of Westland-Buller 1956-1957, Presbytery of South Canterbury 1974-1975, General Assembly of Presbyterian Church of NZ 1980-1981.
Sports: Otago University Rugby Blue, 1946.
Recreations: tramping, croquet, golf.
