Diploma Education 1954. UNZ Post Graduate Travelling Scholarship 1948, Carnegie Fellowship (USA) 1966, Imperial Relations Trust Fellowship 1965.
Retired, formerly lecturer/senior lecturer in English, Victoria University College, Wellington, principal Palmerston North University College, assistant to vice-chancellor Victoria University of Wellington, assistant principal Victoria University of Wellington.
Publications include NZ Scouting, The First Fifty Years (Boy Scouts’ Association, 1958), An Introduction to the Study of Shakespeare’s Text (Victoria University College, Wellington, 1955), William Strachey, 1572-1621 (University Press of Virginia, 1965).
