CULLINANE, Bernard Jeremiah; Judge of the District Court
Born Dannevirke, 11 November 1922, son of Timothy John Cullinane and Frances Johanna (nee Dowling); married Elizabeth Pearl Carter, daughter of Arthur Reginald and Annie Josephine Carter, 1950; four sons two daughters.
Education: Te Rehunga Primary School; Dannevirke High School; Victoria University, LLB 1946, LLM (Hons) 1947, Jacob Joseph Schol.
RNZN, UK theatre 1944-1946 (Sub Lt).  Admitted to Bar, 1946; Early legal experience in Wellington as Assistant to City Solicitor; Principal of Levin legal firm of Park and Bertram (later Park Cullinane & Partners), 1951-1976; Council Member, Manawatu District LS, Vice President 1975-1976; practised as Barrister, Palmerston North, 1978-1983; appointed to District Court Bench 1983; Retired from Bench, 1990; Chairman: Public Service Appeal Board 1983-1986, Wellington District Licensing Committee 1986-1990.
Sports: Victoria University Cross Country Rep, 1946.
Recreations: distance running, tennis.
Address: ‘Sudbury’, 720 High Street, Lower Hutt.
