Born Gisborne, 22 February 1918, son of Harry Douglas de Lautour and Jocelyn Lee (née Lusk); married Natalie Sewell Whiteman, daughter of William Francis Clement Whiteman, 1945; one son two daughters.
Education: Ardkeen Primary School; Gisborne Boys High School; Nuffield Farming Scholarship to United Kingdom, 1956.  2 NZEF, 22nd, 25th Battalions, Middle East, Italy, 1940-1945 (2nd Lieutenant). Prov President Wairoa Provincial Federated Farmers, 1952-1955.  Member, Wairoa County Council, 1962-1969; Inaugural President, Friends of the Urewera National Park.
Recreations: bowls, trout fishing.
Address: 3 Cleary Road, Wainui Beach, Gisborne.
