Retired, formerly schoolteacher.
Trustee Westland Community Trust, convenor Westport Care and Craft Centre, treasurer NZ Red Cross Buller branch, treasurer (formerly president and secretary) Inner Wheel Club of Westport, secretary International Inner Wheel District 297 1986-88, chairperson Westport Childcare Centre.
Awarded QSO 1990, Buller Civic Award 1980, West Coast Woman of the Year 1984.
Mayoress of Westport 1977-83.
Leisure activities include organising Meals on Wheels drivers.
