Dear Sir,
As a project for the International Year of the Child, the Gisborne Health Camp Committee are raising funds to provide equipment for the children attending the Camp, e.g.
1. Gymnastic equipment.
2. Additions to the Adventure Playground.
3. Dressing sheds and covering-in areas for the swimming pool.
4. Colour Television set.
Children from the Napier Health District (which extends from Putorino in the North to Porangahau in the South) attend the Gisborne Health Camp. They are recommended by Public Health Nurses, Principals of primary schools and Medical Practitioners on a selective basis and are sent as their special need arises. During the past year 76 children have attended from Hastings/Havelock North, 68 from Napier and 4 from the Southern areas.
It is thought that people from the Napier Health District may wish to contribute to a Fund Raising effort to be held in October 1979. We intend to send up our contributions to Gisborne mid September.
We hope you feel, as we do, that this is a worthwhile project and look forward to your reply advising whether your organisation will join us in this project.
Yours sincerely,
BE Lee
