Mr J. A. Redgrave,
President of the Hastings Rotary Club,
Lanes Road,
HAVELOCK NORTH.

Dear Mr Redgrave,

We are so grateful for your prompt response to our request for sports and play equipment for the children in the Sussex Street Family Home.  The bat, tennis rackets, balls and other items have already been put to use.

Mr and Mrs Tustin, our foster parents, have asked me to express their thanks for your generous gifts.  They tell me that the boys are playing happily in Windsor Park and taking the opportunity of the daylight hours to improve their ball game.  Apparently after tea, they are settling down to work out some of the indoor games, and once the record player is repaired, they will be able to listen to records.  It is indeed pleasing to know that we have community members prepared to become involved in families less fortunate than their own.

Would you please, on our behalf, thank your committee members for supplying these gifts to the home and thus enabling the children to spend their leisure hours constructively and happily.

Yours sincerely,
Jacquelyn Baird
