Educated Wairarapa College, Hastings Boys’ High School;’ Otago University 1958-61, 1964-54 – Bachelor of Divinity 1965, LTh 1965; Princeton Theological Seminary, USA 1962-65 – MA 1961. ANZIM.
Formerly parish minister 1965-68, ecumenical chaplain Canterbury University 1969-74, education director Campbell Centre 1974-83, director 1983-90.
President Canterbury Association of Mental Health, executive member NZ Council of Christian Social Services.
Publications include Benevolent Gambling (PSSA, 1981), Rural Stress (Presbyterian Support, 1988), The P Factor (Riccarton Rotary Club, 1990), newspaper columns in Christchurch Star 1977-78, Christchurch Press 1986.
TV series Family Affair 1984, You and Your Child 1985.
Leisure activities include camping, skiing, golf, reading, fishing.
