Dear Harry

Yours of the 4th to hand and I must apologise for not writing before this, but did not get to work till Tuesday of this week, having been in bed for over a week with the Flu. I daresay by this time you have seen George who went your way last Monday. It was only last Sunday he was down to see me and I was telling him a lot of unpleasantness we are having with the man we bought the property from, so daresay he has told you as you mentioned this deal to him. We gave notice to him to pay £1000 off by Sept 2nd, but he tried to upset it, but I had it assayed that it is alright most for that day so every spare bob will be required to meet that.

As I said before I think it would be a mistake for anyone to buy as things are at present. This is a bad time before this country for there is more

money going out than there is coming in. The prices of all cotton goods are dropping so you want to be careful if at costprice or market valuation that the stock is bought at.

Business has been slackened down, but must expect it for it is at the end of the season.

We are landing some very good lines from […] next month and expect to be very busy. It is price right through out now Harry and the team that is looking for higher profits will go to the wall. Do not know how things at the front are going to turn out. All business firms been complaining how queer business is. Personally myself Harry would not buy that business unless it was at very low price. Be careful there is a grand assortment, otherwise it will cost a lot to stock up with. Let Ross buy and you go on a salary and commission. Flu very bad here May away today Hilda in bed and Sy is just getting up from it. How is mother and dad. Love to all
Your loving Uncle Harry
