Born Napier, 13 October 1096, son of John Emery Gleadow and Hilda (née Willis); married (1) Lorna May Smith, daughter of Mrs E Braid, 1937 (dissolved 1945); (2) Georgina Murray, daughter of Mr and Mrs W Murray, 1948 (d 1989); two daughters.
Education: Main School; Napier Boys High School.
