Born Wellington, 20 October 1930, son of Joses Clifton Griffith and Evelyn Myrtle (née Crowe); married Helen Mary Gardner, daughter of Edward Arnold and Edna Marion Gardner, 1959; three sons.
Education: Levin Primary School; Horowhenua College; Melbourne Tech; Melbourne University; Trinity Theological College, Auckland.
Technical trainee, broadcasting, 1948; Aircraft Electronics Engineer, AWA, Melbourne, 1952; Cancer Research Engineering, Melbourne, 1953; theology, social work education, Australia, NZ, 1955-1958; Methodist Parish Minister, 1958-1990; social reformer, researcher, writer on adoption; keynote speaker at adoption conferences and universities NZ, Canada, US, England; consultant to Canadian, British Governments on adoption law reform.  Marriage guidance tutor, supervisor; probation officer, secretary school board member, Foundation Member, ASGM; amateur radio operator.
